Exhibition Dates:

Jan. 23 to May 1, 2005. The exhibition is touring with additional stops in Montana, Wyoming, Texas, Colorado, Arizona and California.

Exhibition Highlights:

The exhibition contains some of the late artist’s most popular “suites” or portfolios of work including by not limited to the “Maos,” “Marilyn Monroes,” “Campbell’s Soup,” “Mick Jaggers,” “Electric Chairs,” “Ten Jews” and “Cowboys & Indians.” In addition, several individual prints are featured including “John F. Kennedy Campaign Poster” from the “Flash” portfolio as well as the suite’s cover, “Jackie I” and “Jackie II,” “Muhammad Ali,” and several other revealing self-portraits. “Andy Warhol’s Dream America” features work in a variety of printmaking media, including aquatint, dry point, etching, lithography, mono print, photogravure, woodcut and screen print.

Artist:


Andy Warhol is noted for his dissection of American commerce and everyday life and his reverence for and playful exploration of American popular culture. His art is perhaps amongst the most accessible yet complex to emerge out of the 20th century.
