PRESS RELEASE
Art museum opens registration for fall studio classes
EUGENE—(Sept. 2, 2005)—Learn how to sculpt, make Japanese comic art, or create Chinese brush paintings in one of the fall studio art classes offered at the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
This term, the museum offers five different courses for children ages seven and up as well as adults. There are classes in sculpture, painting, drawing, mixed media and acting.
Through instruction in the galleries and studio, each course is designed to develop skills in viewing and creating art. Participants explore the museum’s collections and special exhibitions, discover new art materials and create their own works of art inspired by the galleries.
This fall’s program offers a variety of class times and such courses as Manga (Japanese comic art), Experimenting with Sculpture, Acting Up in the Museum, Chinese Brush Painting and Holiday Card Making.
Registration forms and payment in full must be received by Friday, Sept. 23. Early registration is encouraged, as classes fill quickly. Tuition includes supplies and materials. Museum members receive a 10 percent tuition discount. Scholarships are available based on financial eligibility.
