DETAILS:

An Andy Warhol film festival presenting five more films over the next two months continues Thursday, Feb. 24 with “Lonesome Cowboys” at 180 Prince Lucien Campbell Hall, 1415 Kincaid St. Admission is free to all of the films, which are presented by the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and Cultural Forum, and the Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA). The festival is offered in conjunction with the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art’s current special exhibition, “Andy Warhol’s Dream America,” which runs through May 1.

“Lonesome Cowboys” was produced in 1969 and is described as a controversial Warhol-directed borderline surrealist spoof on the Western that put him on the FBI watch list. The film kicks off the UO Cultural Forum’s 2005 Queer Film Festival.

“Lonesome Cowboys” will be followed by the screening of four films at DIVA, 100 W. Broadway, Eugene, including ”Andy Warhol” on March 18, “Absolut Warhola” on April 15, “Bad” on April 16, and “I Shot Andy Warhol” on April 17.
