CHILDREN AND TEENS
Manga-nificent!
Ages 6-14
Saturdays, January 29-March 19, Noon to 2:00 p.m.
Eight sessions, sixteen hours
Learn how to draw your favorite Japanese animation characters, such as Yu
Gi Oh and Pokemon, in this contemporary Japanese illustration class. Young
kids and teens will bring manga-style characters to life in this exciting
class.

Pop Boxes and Time Capsules:
Create Art Warhol-Style
Ages 7-13
After school: Wednesdays, January 26-March 16, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Eight sessions, twelve hours
Explore the different techniques Andy Warhol used to make prints in this introductory
class, from collage and overprinting to freeform drawing directly onto photos.
Make a time capsule of collected items just like Andy did. Explore the Warhol
exhibit upstairs for inspiration.

Mix it up! Mixed Media and Contemporary Art
Ages 12-18
Thursdays, January 27-March 17, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Eight sessions, twelve hours
Explore mixed media techniques and your creative intuition. Even if you don’t
draw, you can create fabulous works of art using found objects, text, wire,
collage, and more. Experiment with techniques used by artists on display in
the upstairs galleries, such as Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg.

ADULTS
Inspired by Icons
Wednesdays, January 26-March 16, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Eight sessions, sixteen hours
Draw and paint your own multi-cultural versions of traditional Russian icons
like those found in our gallery upstairs. Explore icon symbols, basic design
principles, and metal applications.
Instructor: Peggy Staalberg
Tuition: $90.00 ($81.00 for museum members)
Beyond the Four Gentlemen
Saturdays, January 29-March 19, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Eight sessions, sixteen hours
Beginning and continuing Chinese brush painting using the "four gentlemen"-grass
orchid, chrysanthemum, plum blossom, and bamboo-plus new subjects for continuing
students.
Instructor: Kathy Thompson
Tuition: $90.00 ($81.00 for museum members)
