With education as its guiding light, the museum provides an interactive environment that encourages discovery, learning, and dialogue. From first-time museum-goers to scholars and collectors, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens, from families looking for leisure-time activities to teachers seeking instructional resources, the education department provides a variety of engaging programs and hands-on experiences.
The museum’s newly expanded facility includes a Studio, Interactive Discovery Gallery, and Lecture Hall, which combine to form our new education suite. These spaces present an interactive environment for visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and/or abilities and are designed with the aim of helping visitors to experience the museum with enthusiasm gained through new perspectives and insights.
Funding for the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art’s education programs has been provided by grants from the Wyeth Foundation for American Art and the Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Hayes Sr. Fund and Edna L. Holmes Fund of Oregon Community Foundation.
