Education is an integral component of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art's
mission. Education is included in the development and implementation of each
program and exhibition we create. We value museums as interactive environments
where discovery, learning, and dialogue are encouraged. Our aim for each visitor,
regardless of age, background or ability, is to experience the Museum of Art
with enthusiasm empowered by new perspectives and insights.
Our programs focus on interdisciplinary connections, family-centered learning
opportunities, and address individual learning styles. Register
today for winter studio classes offered in our new art-making studio!
We are committed to providing exceptional programs that foster an understanding
and appreciation of art. Please visit our new Educational
Suite for a glimpse at the exciting new educational spaces that will be
available to visitors when the museum reopens.
Furthermore, we offer a variety of opportunities for the public to participate
in the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. Our volunteer
application lists the many possibilities. Whether you are interested in
doing research for an upcoming exhibition, helping at a museum opening, or
entering memberships in the database, we have many opportunities for you.
University of Oregon students may also gain valuable hands-on museum experience
through internships and work-study jobs. We are very proud of our volunteers
and consider them an integral part of the museum's team.
