Highlights from the museum’s European paintings include Max Pechstein's "Ballet Dancers," 1912; "Women on the Beach," 1932 by Le Corbusier; and a delicate watercolor of a river barge by Paul Cezanne.

Works of European art that reflect the influence of Asian culture include 18th-century furniture and early 20th-century prints by such artists as Elizabeth Keith that show the direct influence of Japanese woodblock design and technique.

Important ancillary collections include a fine grouping of Russian Icons from the Novgorod and Moscow schools, dating from the 15th through 18th Century.
